Coffee

I like you best when you’re not alone.

I like it when you’re next to my computer, or when you’ve got some cream mixed in you. I like it especially when someone is holding you and they say that they couldn’t have started the day without you. But I wonder what you would’ve been without anything or anyone else.

It’s Sunday and we’re together again. Panera’s got some nice jazz playing on their radio and the days are getting colder. I’ve got you (my coffee) and a nice cafe-book. But I wonder if I’d ever look for you if I wasn’t in Panera and if I didn’t have my book. A lot of the times I think about that. Everyone says they can’t live without you but I wonder if you can live without them.

Nonetheless you exist alongside all of my other things and so I consider you somewhat important to me. It’s okay when you don’t have milk mixed in you because even then you still give me some energy and you look quite nice next to my book. I’ll keep you around for a little while longer.
